Showing some love!

Wow, it's the 9th of August already and July was a busy (not to mention expensive) month for me beauty-wise. Here are some of the products that made an impression on me over the past month.

MAC # 226 brush

Mac # 226 brush

Re-promoted with the Colour Craft collection after first making an appearance with the Blonde, Brunette and Redhead (BBR) collection in January, I finally succumbed to the hype and bought this - and boy am I glad I did! This brush makes crease work and blending so easy, I love it so much and treat it as if it were my first newborn. The last time I got this excited over a brush was when I got my #182. It's sold out now but if you come across it on Ebay, in a blog sale (doubtful, but you never know!) or elsewhere - grab it!!

GOSH Extreme Art eye liners

GOSH Extreme Art eye liner in 07 (black)

This waterproof liquid liner doesn NOT budge which is great me as my hooded eyes transfer liner to my browbone all the time which is really annoying. I don't have this problem with this liner at all. My application could do with a bit of practise as hand always wobbles but the super thin brush is perfect for getting a defined line and the bristles don't begin to fray after you've used on a regular basis. I'm a big fan of the GOSH Art Extreme waterproof liners. They come in a range of colours from peacock green to bright gold.

L'oreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black

L'oreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black

I bought this when I was visiting hubby in May and I've been using it a lot lately. If you want thick black, black lashes then this is the high street mascara you've been looking for. It really lives up to its name and gives your lashes fantastic VOLUME. I like the fact that my lashes aren't brittle to touch once its dried too as I hate spidery lashes. It makes my eyes look very dramatic and quite sultry as my lashes look so black. You can really see the difference in colour in comparison to my other mascara fave Chanel Inimitable. I'm very impressed with it and will definitely repurchase as this is the only mascara I've tried that has lived up to its claim as being really black.

Botanics soothing eye make up remover

Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover
I wish I'd discovered this sooner. I've been using this since March and this is the only make up remover I'll be buying from now on. It being recommended so much on a beauty forum I used to frequent but I was hooked on Clinique Take Off The Day make up remover. I finally bought it when my beloved Clinique Take The Day off had run out and haven't looked back since. It's £'s cheaper than the Clinique and does just as good a job and is less oily - result! It allows me to remove my makeup (including waterproof), quickly and thoroughly without disturbing the skin around the delicate eye area which is important to me cos I am paranoid about ageing at the moment! My bottle has almost run out and I'm hoping Boots do a 3 for 2 on the Botanics range so I can stock up!

I've been using Boots own brand eye makeup remover pads for ages and they've finished at the mo, I'm using Vaseline up and then will buy this Botanics stuff, I think they are currently on buy one get one half price. I dislike putting liquid near my eyes as the Neutrogena makeup remover gave me blurred vision.

I already use their cleansing wipes and body butter, buy them and I'm sure you won't be sorry, if you are, I'll take them off your hands ;)

Argh I'm kicking myself for not getting that 226 brush! :( Totally agree with you about voluminous - it's the only mascara I wear now, I love it even more than YSL false lash. And the Botanics eye makeup remover is my HG too, so gentle.

I'm really interested in the GOSH liner as I'm after a liquid atm. I've heard the collection 2000 one is good, as is one by 2true but I like the sound of this one... I don't have much lid showing either so usually have to keep my head tilted back til liquid liner dries lol but this one might be perfect for me if it doesn't budge. Is the brush quite tricky to work with? I usually prefer the slightly harder, felt-tip style ones as you have a bit more control but then you can't really get a thin line with those xx

I love the GOSH artliners too, so pigmented and simply don't budge like you say. I find them pretty hard to apply though.. it's the spindly little brush, kinda gets tangled in my lashes, don't you have that problem?

@ Lipglossing @ Lisa - If I move too quickly with it, I wobble and it'll slip into my lashes but when I take my time it's fine. I love how thin you can make the lines.

@ Kendall - LOL It's great isn't it?

@ Jenny - I think it's a great product, it really does the trick.

@ Lovesgreayboy - I used to do that too when I got my 182. I duped my cuz into buying it for me when went to Miami and he flipped at the price of it! LOL

@ Lola - I totally agree with you. I wish I'd bught2 of them.

@ Rhamnousia - Thanks for that, will go and get some after work tomorrow. I need some more wipes so will check those out too if the offer applies to those too. Cheers hon!

@ LaaLaa - Me too! I just won the pencil I spotted a few wks ago off Ebay that I was unable to track down anywhere :-)
