The Mega Tek challenge

The answer to my hair growing prayers arrived in the post today, Mega-Tek! Read here and google for a million other reviews, articles and threads on this wonder product

Last week I had to chop about 3 inches off my hair as I missed my November trim (I trim my hair every 8-9 weeks) and that, teamed with the horrible weather and tying my silk scarf around my head too right at night caused some breakage. All my split ends are gone but I now need to focus on getting my length back, particularly at the lower back of my hair and all over in general.

My hair is also quite fine and I've always wanted thicker locks, so here's hoping
. I've taken a snap of my hair today and will be doing an update post in 2 weeks as I've read reviews, complete with pictures which display noticeable growth within this period.

Hair length as of Friday 22nd Jan 2010

On a serious note, please join hands with me and pray that I don't end up with horse gums and a tail to match next week!

I've hear many women on LHCF -> (www.longhaircareforum.com) rave about this attributing to length, thickness and overall health of the hair. Good luck :)

There are so many way people use this product. How do you plan to incorporate it into your regimen?

VexintheCity said...

@Olivia - Yeah and also on Blackhairmedia.com :-)

@Dwana - I'm gna use it daily, straight on my scalp. I'm taking garlic tablets to combat any shedding that may occur and have chucked out myusual 'grease' products for my scalp as they contain mineral oil in them.

Looking forward to seeing some changes :-)

Any ladies who're noticing increased hair shedding, make sure you are getting enough folic acid. I'm on drugs for rheumatoid arthritis that deplete folic acid; I was meant to take a supplement, ran out, didn't know it was deathly important (aka or else your hair will fall out - doc didn't mention that!) and voila, my hair was falling out like crazy. When I started back taking the folic acid again it stopped - now it's all growing back and I have tonnes of annoying sprouty short bits, but at least it's coming back!

Oh and PS, you can't 'overdose' on folic acid - your body will just expel what you don't need.

I bought Vatika enriched coconut oil on Sat and mixed the Mega Tek up with that. I'm also taking garlic capsules to combat any shedding as recommended on the hair forums I've been reading.

Thanks for this, I am really liking the sound of this as my hair could do with a boost - so will be keeping an eye on how you get on.

The Vatika sounds interesting, i currently use just pure coconut oil on my scalp but i think it needs a bit more oomph so i might check it out. I think the only thing that i wasn't sure about was that on the ingredient list i noticed it contains henna and i wasn't sure how this would work on relaxed hair?

last point i promise - i just tagged your blog/post into a post on my blog. check it out if you can. x

Oh, I'm not too sure. We did a review of MegaTek on BlackHairInformation.com and we got very average results and growth. Granted, growth seemed a bit accelerated at the begining of use but it levelled out. See the review here and tell me if your results are different: http://blackhairinformation.com/reviews/mega-tek-equine-rebuilder-review-does-it-really-work-for-human-hair-growth/

Do you love megatek? I read in one of your newer posts that your new growth is ridiculous! I have natural fine hair, and I want it to be THICKER.NOW. haha

Are you getting results that you think is worth the money?
