Make Up Store - Carnaby Street

If you've visited Carnaby Street recently, you'd have noticed that the Make Up Store is now open for business. I popped in last week, as a thunderstorm cascaded over my head for shelter and had a chance to take a look around. Situated just a few metres from the MAC Pro Store, the Make Up Store is a welcome addition for beauty addicts and I fully expect to see this store packed on a Saturday afternoon.

Filled with foundations, eyehadows, pigments and much, much more, the Make Up Store has a wide variety of shades and finishes to suite everybody's tastes, complete with tools a plenty to stock up the kits and collections of make up users on all levels.

The store is designed as self service with all products easily accessible to customers to pick up and take to the till themselves (I bet they'll have a security guard present to deter shoplifters by the end of the month though!).

Many of you may already be aware that there's a branch in Westfield and there are also a number of international stores too.

Prices are mid-range and comparable to those of M.A.C and I was particularly taken by the scented candles which smelt utterly divine! I'd already swatched myself silly in M.A.C beforehand so I didn't really swatch many of their products as I was all swatched out but those I did swatch had nice pigment pay-off. I'll certainly be going back to have another look soon.

I took a few (crap) pictures while I was there to share with you:

What do you think of the Make Up Store's products? Do you have any favourites?

Check their website out to see the dozens of products they have available.

I haven't seen the one in Westfield which is kind of suprising as I practically live there :(

I will have to go have a look as it's so much easier to get there than Carnaby street. Their website looks good :)

I saw this shop when I went to the Pro store a few days ago. I didn't go in though. I just checked their site, its eerie how their eyeshadows and lipsticks are exactly the same price as MAC ones! :O

I'll prob revisit at some point, knowing me lol.

I swear I've looked for that shop in every single corner of westfield and haven't found it! I practically live there these days and I think they might have hidden it in a dark corner or something...

I popped into this shop last time I was in Westfield. Although I didn't buy anything I was impressed with the wide range of colours and good pigmentation. It did remind me a lot of MAC though x

I popped into the Westfield store (and passed the Carnaby St one), but I didn't like the "aura" in there... it felt a bit cheap, not really like a place you'd treat yourself or pick up something highly covetable. But my first impressions could be wrong! x

I just stumbled into the Make Up Store on Carnaby Street yesterday and did some damage. My favorite find is one of the hologram nail polishes in Greta. LOVE IT.

I was there on their grand hopening literally by accident as I work nearby. I was given a goodie bag containing an eyeshadow and other products. Eyeshadows cost £11 but are twice bigger than mac pans. 3.5g vs 1.5g. Many are dupes of MAC shadows (e.g. vanilla) hence they need a try! I swatched a few foundations and they seemed to be good.

I spotted this shop last weekend on a rare outing into central London and spoke to one of the sales girls. She told me about the shop in Westfield while I stared back at her vacantly. I mean, I don't remember seeing it and I've been to Westfield many times, I only know Inglot. I think she said it was near or next to La Senza. Any hoo, I liked their holographic nail polishes but they were out of stock so I left empty handed (just as well then). I liked the look of their eye shadow glittery pot thingies but not sure how I could use those...I need to coat them in vaseline to make them stick!
