Nailgals High Summer Collection preview evening

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Last week I attended the Nailgirls boutique nail spa, where a private event was held after hours to preview their new summer nail polish collection.

Founded in May 2009 by sisters Lynda-Louise and Joannna Burrell (lovely ladies by the way), Nailgirls boutique spa is situated in the heart of Islington on a cosy residential road off well-known Upper Street and offers a range of treatments to get fingers and toes in tip-top condition.

High Summer 2010 collection

The new summer collection consists of four shades:

Aqua #1 - Inspired by the gingham dresses and pastel hues sported by Christopher Kane on the catwalk. This prettyblue has a lovely opaque finish.

Coral #2 - a lovely coral creme
Yellow #3 - a soft pastel yellow, that can be worn sheer or layered up for a pretty shimmer.

Green #3 (Limited Edition) -  a fab grassy green which will be released to coincide with the Wimbledon tennis tournament

Nailgirls polishes are free from Toluene, Formaldehyde, Camphor and Dibutyl Phthalate and all nailgirls products are safe, ethical and ecological.

Nailgirls have over 60 shades to choose from which are also available to buy online...

The mini-manicures were popular!

I had my nails done in Blue #4 which can be likened to a stonewashed denim blue. It's not a colour I'd ordinarily go for, but it looked so nice in the bottle that it literally called my name. I took it off two days ago and it had barely chipped. I'm pretty impressed as I've been washing dishes and generally banging my hands and nails all over the shop without a care in the world.

Polishes priced £10 each

Sounds like a great event, love that nail polish too. Thanks for posting out the cream blush. Far too bright for my cheeks (knew it probably would be) so I've been using as a lip stain and I love it! xx

@Lauren Loves - Thanks! You're welcome and I'm glad you've managed to find another use for the blush xx

Ooh these are very pretty, stand-out colours! Is it just me or do they have a really neat texture, not thick, yet not practically transparent?
