British brand Models Own, recently announced that they would be launching a new pocket friendly make up range in Boots stores nationwide.
The collection includes new products which include lipsticks, face paints, false eye lashes, blusher, mascara, bronzer and brushes and went instore and online on April 29th. I was sent a few items for my perusal which I've decided to quickly share my thoughts on.
Models Own have introduced a set of face paints for those who are like to be a bit more daring with their make up. Available in four fluro shades and deemed a great addition for the upcoming festival season - these paints are safe for use on the cheeks, lips and eyes. All you need is a brush and you're set to go.
I'm not one to indulge in face painting (at all) but I swatched Neon Yellow and it went on smooth and creamy with a synthetic brush. The pigment is pretty impressive too.
Pretty baby (cute name by the way) is a silver and mint green duo which is pretty shimmery. You may experience issues with a little fallout when applying as there's noticeable sparkle in it. Overall I'm not really taken by it, but this is just one out of ten duos available so maybe some of the others will fare better in quality.
I already own a few Models Own polishes, even though admittedly I haven't gotten round to wearing any of them yet - and I've had them since January! Meet Blue Lagoon, which is a bright aqua blue with a subtle pearlescent shimmer. The first coat was quite sheer, but two coats provided full coverage.
Their lipstick surprised me. I'm not a fan of the plastic, clear packaging, but it hadn't made my lipss shrivel or dried them out when I wiped it off an hour later.
So those are my thoughts on the items I was sent from the Models Own new make up range. There are a range of other shades and products to choose from, but personally I think I'll be sticking with their nail polishes. The range will now doubt appeal a lot to 'tweens' and the teen market which it's aimed at.
All items featured here cost just £5 each.
