RapidLash - Does it live up to the hype?

Before it went on sale in Boots last week, there were reportedly already over 1000 women who had placed themselves on a waiting list so they'd be first to get their hands on RapidLash. Since its arrival in Boots, the 'miracle' serum which claims to thicken and lengthen eyelashes by fifty per cent with daily use,  has been flying off the shelves here in the UK.

RapidLash is 'Flying off the shelves'.
If applied nightly, the clear serum is said to make eyelashes appear significantly thicker after 3-4 weeks, with some users reporting a difference after just four days. FOUR DAYS?? Hmmm ...I'm saying nothing! One tube should last approximately 1-2 months and it's recommended that once you have achieved the desired appearance of lashes that you continue to use it to maintain their appearance. This can also be used on sparse eyebrows too and is also suitable for men to use.

The science bit: The active ingredient in the serum, prostaglanadin, is a compound which helps gells to multiply and replenish themselves. It is also used in treating the eye condition glaucoma.

There has been a huge scramble to develop a lash-lengthening product since it was noticed that eye drops designed to treat glaucoma had the side-effect of making lashes longer.
Like many, I love the look of long eyelashes but have real trouble fiddling around with fake eyelashes so this sounds like a great alternative. I've had a sample lying around for a couple of weeks now, but pulled it out for a good look today and have decided to bite the bullet and start using it as of this evening.

I'm still a little hesitant as the last thing I want are eyelashes that look like this. The things we risk in the name of beauty, eh? Hopefully I won't end up with 3 eyelashes on each eye or even worse, be left blind! In comparison to its competitors Revitalash and LiLash which cost considerably more, RapidLash is much cheaper but nothing is risk-free as far as I'm concerned.  We all react differently to products - I just pray I have more luck than Laura (Lollipop26) did.

Have you tried it? If so, did it work for you? I wanna know!! I'll do an update post in a months time.

Sold exclusively in Boots, RapidLash is available for £39.99

Hmmm, not Talika lipocils is half the price and works really well for me.

Good luck with the RapidLash though.

@Jess - I saw a very slight difference with Talika Lipocils but when I compare what similar products have done for people's lashes, the change I had was pretty dire.

Hey hun,
I am currently using this..haven't been using it long enough to see results yet but I have my fingers crossed! My eyelashes are short and sparse (I am definately not gifted in the lash department), so I guess if this works it would be kind of a mini miracle for me! I also did a blogpost about it on my blog! Good luck with it, I always read your blogposts anyway but will pay sopecial attention for your updates on this! :)

I'm interested to hear how this works out...I think I'd be a bit scared of trying anything like this but maybe if I see some good results I'll be a bit less apprehensive! x

I'm keeping an eye (no pun intended) on your progress with this.

My eyelashes are quite short and fine and I used to wear false eyelashes during the day because I felt so self conscious. I started used something similar called LiLash and after 4 weeks I noticed a huge difference. My eyelashes were longer and thicker and I didn't need the falsies! After about 3 months my lashes were incredible and I hardly needed mascara.

The downsides of the product though were the price (I paid £100 for one tube!) and I did have a bit of a reaction the first week in the form of puffy red eyes. Also the biggest disadvantage is that it's not a permanent solution, as soon as I stopped using the product my eyelashes went back to their original state :(
