Project Palette - MAC Cult of Cherry Tempting Eye Quad (FOTD)

Whilst rummaging through my make up the other day (as you do), it dawned on me how much I neglect my eye shadow palettes. I have five x 15 MAC Pro palettes - all full of depotted shadows and pans and all too often I'll reach for those, ignoring the numerous eye shadow palettes that I've purchased. It's not intentional, I just have too much make up and it's all too easy to forget what I own.

Yesterday I dug out the MAC Tempting Eye quad which is from the Cult of Cherry collection, which was released in 2008. I really like Sharp, a unique, vibrant acidic green (MAC Bitter e/s is a great dupe by the way), which Tempting and Dark Edge compliment so well.

I loathe taking FOTD pictures with a passion, it's the one aspect of beauty blogging I really don't enjoy at all. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how many pictures I ended up taking yesterday afternoon before I gave up in frustration. Urgh.

Playing with this palette has made me realise I need Pharoah paint pot in my collection, which is a bright green base. I used MAC Chartru Paint as a base in an attempt to bring out the green in Sharp (I should have stuck to UDPP) but the look swiftly went downhill the second I applied it to my lids, as the shadow wouldn't take to it at all. I was left with a creased, blurry, unblendable hot mess. I did my best to rescue it but failed. I was totally past caring by the time I started taking pictures - you can visibly see just how fed up I was, in one of them!

Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Foundation (6.5)
MUFE Full Cover Concealer (14)
MAC Loose Powder (NC45)
MAC blush in Merrily

Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara
Max Factor Lash Extension mascara (lower lashes)
No 7 Amazing Eyes Liquid Liner
MAC paint in Chartru (base)
Lid - Sharp
Crease, up to brow bone - Tempting/Dark Edge
Highlight - Next To Nothing (a teeny bit, barely noticeable)

MAC Half 'n Half lipstick
MAC Pastel Emotion lipglass

@Louise - Thanks luv, it's much easier to manage now LOL Yeah, def try and use more of your unloved palettes :-0

@Amina - It's all in the mind, you just have to focus (says she who purchased the UD BOS III yesterday).

@Sarah - Thanks Sarah. I don't think I'll ever manage to look older than 6 yrs old when I grin LOL I don't use Merrily as much as maybe I should.

@DesignerSpray - Thanks a lot :-) Urgh FOTD pictures do my head in. They take up far too much time. Hmm that duo has the potential to look great together.

I LOVE the Tempting quad and I took forever to buy it (just wasn't high on my list for some reason) and well when I finally got around to getting it, it was sold out. I have been trying to find it but NO ONE has it, so I have been stuck trying to make my own. I love all the colors and I have been going back and forth with 2 colors for the sour green color. I am going to try Bitter. I just think this was one of the great quads that kind of flies under the radar. Hope you can make it work for you, because I think it would look great with your skin tone.

I can definitely see a hint of cheesed off in your pictures ;). You look lovely though and I see you're wearing half n half. I've wondered about getting that lipstick for so long. You've reminded me I must swatch it!
