If you're not familiar with it, check it out in these stills taken from the video below:
Thanks to Krissy over at Addicted to all Things Pretty who had the very video stills I was searching for on Google, over on her blog.
The origin of this shade, recently came up in conversation at work, when a colleague of mine spoke of her search for a similar colour. Coincidently, polishes from new range Filthy Gorgeous, arrived the next day for me to try, and I instantly spotted a potential dupe.
Minx, a vibrant cornflower blue is spot on! The texture is easy to apply, it's not overly thick, gloopy, or too runny and it took just two coats to reach opacity. Its creme finish also dried quickly leaving a glossy shine on the nails. I think it's a gorgeous shade, despite being one that I would normally have overlooked for my skin tone, had I not seen it on Rihanna first.
Filthy Gorgeous - Minx
One coat of polish left nails a little streaky (see top nail)
Two coats - perfect coverage.
It's not all roses though, I have two minor gripes with the packaging. First of all, I'm not a fan of the Filthy Gorgeous plectrum that comes attached to every bottle. It can be easily removed and used as either a key ring or bag charm but I think they look cheap and personally I don't want my nail polish to look as if I picked it off the shelf in Primark. Luckily this can be discarded after purchase.
Secondly, the ink from the the lid, which mimics black lace (not a fan of that either), annoyingly rubs off each time I open the bottle, so I'm left with black smudges on my fingers. They easily wash off with soapy water, but it shouldn't be happening in the first place. This design fault needs to be fixed pronto.
Ink staining from the bottle lid
I have no issue with the polish itself, I think the formula's great and Minx is a gorgeous colour, but given the price point of the product, I expected the outer packaging to look classier and well, the staining of my hands needs no further explanation really, does it? The staining also occurred when opening the other two bottles I was sent.
If you want to tap into your inner Ri-Ri and bag Minx, you can find Filthy Gorgeous (all 31 shades of it!) at Debenhams branches in London and Glasgow and online at Debenhams.co.uk priced £9 each.

so happy you pointed out the packaging, first blogger who did so. for me this bottle looks like a stargazer nail polish at £2.50, as for the staining: erm wtf? i'd still buy the polish if it were £3.50 but not more xx
Love this, it really suits your skin tone.
I can tell you exactly what it is, it's Urban Outfitters Lilac. Kimmie Keyees done them.
I blooged about this back in January =). xx
looks pretty much like china glaze secret periwinkle
It looks really similar to Models Own Beths Blue which I love!
The packaging doesnt attract me but that is a very nice colour on you & a good dupe for Riri's nails too.
