Go Pink with Elizabeth Hurley at Selfridges for BCA Month

Last night I attended a special event to mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month, hosted by the UK Estée Lauder group. All brands under the Lauder umberella have come together yet again to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month, which will take place throughout the month of October.

The evening was not only inspriring, but highly emotive at times as it quickly became apparent how many people in the room has been personally affected by the disease. It certainly left me with something to think about as I lay in bed last night.

Elizabeth Hurley is Estée Lauders' Breast Cancer Awareness Brand Ambassador - and has been for the past 16 years. Tomorrow she'll be at the Estée Lauder counter in Selfridges London at 12pm, to sign products from The Pink Ribbon Collection and mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

For each item in this collection that is sold on the day, a donation will be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of at least 15% of the selling price.

Plus, for every sale of Estée Lauder products from the counter in Selfridges Oxford Street, a further donation will be made to The Breast Cancer Research Fondation of 10% of the selling price.

If you can't make it at 12pm, then get to Selfridges for 8pm, to join Elizabeth, special guests and fellow customers outside, where she will be lighting the exterior of the famous store pink, in a special pink lighting ceremony.

The pink lighting ceremony is part of the Estée Lauder Companies Global Illumination Initiative, which was started by Evelyn Lauder in 2000. Evelyn, Senior Corporate Vice President of The Estée Lauder Companies is also the founder of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campiagn (BCA).

Selfridges, Oxford Street will join an impressive list of world famous landmarks which have also been given the pink treatment in the past - such as the Empire State Building and Niagara Falls.

Over the next few days, I'll be sharing more information about the BCA campaign and what you can do get involved. In the meantime, check out the Estee Lauder website which has a special section dedicated to the cause. Click here.
