There appears to be no stopping Illamasqua at the moment, who fresh from releasing their latest collection, Theatre of the Nameless have now ventured into fragrance, with the imminent release of their first scent, Freak.
As usual, the imagery which accompanies the campaign is unique and not that of your average fragrance advertising - in fact, it instantly reminds me of Halloween!

Freak by Illamasqua is made up of the following:
TOP NOTES: Black Davana, Opium Flower and Belladonna bewitch the senses into uncontrollable lust and passion.
HEART NOTES: Poison Hemlock, Datura and Queen of the Night blossom, caress and kiss.
BASE NOTES: Aromas of Frankincense, Oud and Myrrh, addictively mesmerises and captures the senses.
I was sent a small sample bottle, which arrived yesterday morning. The fragrance isn't to my personal liking. I find the alcohol in it quite overbearing, and once it had settled, I thought it smelt more like aftershave than a feminine scent. I like scents with depth and warm, ambery notes for autumn and winter, but I think this is more suited to my Dad - in fact I know he'll like it, so I'll be giving my sample to him later. You'll either love or loathe it, that's the beauty of fragrance and it's certainly intoxicating and very heady.
The bottle also has a masculine hue about it and as somebody who's scared silly by snails - I'm not particularly welcoming of the one crawling up the side of the bottle or leaving slime all over the model in the promo video...
To accompany the launch of Freak, Illamasqua have created a capsule collection of three limited edition products, whose shades reflect the rare blooms that make up this exotic scent.
Hemlock - pale opal green iridescent nail polish
Queen of the Night - blackened plum pure pigment
Datura - neutral mauve sheer lipgloss
Priced £59 (75ml) Freak by Illamasqua EDP is available for pre-order from 3rd October at Illamasqua.com and will officially launch on 20th October 2011.
