Not For The Faint Hearted - Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir

Ever since Tom Ford's Black Orchid captivated me last year, I've been more open to trying heavier fragrances and not automatically opting for the typical vanilla or sweet smelling scents I find myself drawn to.

I like the simple, yet elegant presentation Jo Malone products are reknown for. You immediately feel you're in for a treat as you tease open the black bow which envelopes the outer packaging.

Pomegranate Noir is actually a unisex cologne infused with patchuoli, frankincense and spicy woody notes and I wasn't too sure of this when I first spritzed it on my forearm. It smells very masculine and I still felt it leant more towards a masculine scent even after it had settled some 30 mins later. Within two hours the scent had diffused further, quite dramatically actually considering how intense it was to start off with. It became softer, but not as warm and engulfing as I find Tom Ford's Black Orchid.

Although I'm not particularly bowled over by it, Pomegranate Noir has an army of loyal fans, so I'd recommend you have a sniff yourself and make your own mind up.

This is actually my first dalliance with Jo Malone products. I know the brand is well known for its candles, but other than that, I have little knowledge of the brand as a whole. I look forward to discovering some of their other bestsellers.

Pomegranate Noir is priced from £36 (30ml) and can be purchased online or from selected department stores.

I love Pomegranate Noir. It's one of my fella's scents. He has been wearing it for years. Smells gorgeous on him, and I'm often guilty of stealing the occasional spritz! x

I love Jo Malone, but this one is an 'instant migraine creator' for me.... it's just too strong!

This is a beautiful fragrance, but I prefer it on my husband more than me. The candle is also lovely and only needs a short burning time to make the room smell wonderful.

ooh I have a PN candle, which I love, but I've never tried the cologne. I have White Tie & Tiara, the LE scent which I wore to my wedding & I adore it. Much heavier than any other scent I've ever owned, but it does make me feel v grown up!
