OMIGOD - Chanel Perfection Lumiere - Darker Foundation Shades Available!

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I couldn't believe my eyes when it was bought to my attention that Lancome were now catering for darker skin tones with their new Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation. Last night I was browsing the beauty hall in Harvey Nicks and almost collapsed in shock when I spotted darker foundation shades at no other than Chanel in their perfection Lumiere foundation

YES CHANEL HAS FOUNDATION SHADES FOR DARKER SKIN!!!!!!! As I stared in utter disbelief at what was before my eyes ( I was convinced they were some sort of fake tan), I was approached by the loveliest sales assistant who was quick to provide me with some samples when I enquired further and helpfully matched me up to my shade - which is 94 Ambre.

Had I not strolled by the counter - with the intent of looking at the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks (again), I'd never have seen the foundation. Brands - ADVERTISING IS KEY. I didn't expect to see darker foundation at Chanel, so have never felt the need to go back and check to see if I'm catered for.

Perfection Lumiere offers medium to full coverage in liquid form, without looking cakey. First impressions? It didn't glide as smoothly as the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra, but I guess that's because the formula is slightly heavier given its coverage, but in the same breath I was still able to blend it in within a minute or so as I was in quite a rush this morning.
Chanel Perfection Lumiere comes in 16 shades (as pictured above) and I'm wearing it today. I'm quite impressed at how well t's holding up, as it's almost 5pm now and it still looks pretty fresh. This may well be purchased shortly, I'll see how I feel on Saturday!

How much is it? £36
Where can I buy it from? Chanel counters nationwide and online

I recently purchased the new Chanel foundation. I already knew what shade I was because I follow utubers with the same shade profile as me. However upon further research I gathered that they only have released 16 shades in the UK as oppose to 20 in the US. Of course the shade I wanted (beige ambre 54 was not available in the UK. They tried to match me to shade 64 which was to dark. I took it back. They even said the shade I wanted didn't exist ! I was determined to get my hands on this foundation so I manage to find a reliable ebayer in the US and finally got what I wanted. I just wanted to put it out there that they will still try to confine buyers to what they have available rather than what actually suits the purchaser.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I really really like it even though I have witnessed a few negative reviews and people whining on about how they are saddened by the beloved lost of the pro lumiere instead of saluting the fact that Chanel are embracing a wider audience from both sides of the color spectrum. If the pro was that good then they should maybe bring it back with the wider shade range. Phew I'll stop ranting now (I went to great lengths to get this foundation). Love your blog posts btw

I have recently bought this foundation myself and i love it. Its my second perfect match foundation that i own Im 134 ambre. It lasts all day and gives a nice finish Fyi my other perfect match is mac matchmaster 9.0. The trouble with Chanel not advertising the fact they do darker foundation now , the company might then feel that were not interested in buying from them and discontinue them like what dior did. They had a darker foundation too, but its more like we are used to being ignored in the cosmetic world Chanel is the last company we would shop for foundations. So they definetly need to tell us i.e in black magazines or tv.

Ahhhhh I need to pass this on to a couple of people. It's such a damn shame that in this day and age something as simple as a wide range of shades is still not widely available!!!

Great post babe

Freaking finally! I will have to go get matched up and fingers crossed they have a perfect shade for me. I don't see why they have to have less shades released in the UK compared to the US.

Perfection Lumiere CANNOT match PRO LUMIERE. Pro lumiere was the best Foundation Chanel ever done. Why did they discontinue such a good product.
Chanel please listen to your faithful customers.... Bring back Pro lumiere please.
