Want it, Need it - Samsung Galaxy III (S3)

I've not had much luck with mobile phones of late, Within the past few months, I've accidentally thrown my phone in the bin (don't ask) and my current Blackberry has had an ongoing problem with its microphone.

I was contemplating getting the iPhone 5 when it was released, but wasn't impressed that there appeared to be little difference to its predecessor the 4S. Step forward the Samsung Galaxy III (S3), which ticks all my boxes and has been the object of my technological desire for the past couple of months.

I actually read a fellow beauty blogger's review (unfortunately, I can't for the life of me remember which blog it was on, but if you're reading this, thank you because it was really helpful!) and that, along with seeing it work its magic in the flesh, courtesy of a friend who owns it, sealed the deal for me.

I love the large screen, its Direct Call feature which allows you to discard a half written text and call the recipient instead by just placing the phone to your ear - no more fumbling around looking through your contacts, genius! Oh and Instagram! I can finally get back on Instagram (I'm on there as VexintheCity by the way). I set up an account when I bought (and returned) an iPad 2 earlier this year, but I just wasn't using it and figured it was a waste of money. Is it really bad, that all I care about is having a phone which gives me access to Instagram?!

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a crystal clear display and even boasts a face recognition feature, known as Smart Stay which detects when you're looking at the phone, ensuring that the screen won't dim after a few seconds, like other handsets do - handy. You can check out its other main features here at The Carphone Warehouse and check out FAQ's over on the Samsung website.

I've had enough of my current phone and I'm 98% sure that I'll be treating myself to this in the very near future.

Do any of you already own the Samsung Galaxy S III? How does it compare to say, the iPhone? I want to know your thoughts.

I absolutely love this phone. Both my mum and brother own one and I've more or less hijacked my mum's until I can get an upgrade.

P.S. I'll put you out of your misery and let you know that you can access Instagram via web at webstagram.com

I have it and love it. I thought I would miss my iphone but the S3 is amazing.

I can do just as much on the S3 as I did with my iphone and more.

I've got instagram and blogger so I'm not missing out :).

I love the Samsung SIII but I am torn between that and the Samsung Note. I have heard that both phones are amazing and I am soooooo over my Blackberry, every time it freezes I feel like screaming and throwing it into the river.

Yes this is the phone I will be owner of by end of the year. I will still keep my BB simply for fam and oversees. I was torn between the s3 and note as well but I will be buying my phone so must settle for the cheapest. Instagram is lovely but so far I just use my ipod touch for it. I hope you do a review of the phone once you get it.

I played with one a few months ago and now I'm obsessed with it, too! For the camera alone :)

I love the look of this one; my husband has the SII. I have an HTC Desire S, which I do really like... buuut now that I've gotten so into blogging and social media networking, I'm finding the battery just doesn't last long enough and the screen is too small :( Definitely looking to get a new, bigger smart phone when my contract is up in May :/

Love the look of your blog - I'm your newest follower :) <3
