How to Prepare Your Summer Holiday Outfits.

In 2017 alone, 72.8 million Brits went on holiday abroad. This was a 3% increase from 2016. This just goes to show one thing – us Brits love a summer holiday.

However, one thing that can be annoying, is packing. Not knowing what to take can cause a lot of stress, and if you don’t know what to take, it can cause you to overpack – resulting in fines at the airport.

By following the below steps, you should be able to avoid these fines and create the perfect summer holiday wardrobe at the same time.

Staples

The first thing you need to think about when it comes to getting your holiday outfits right is your staples. Start by picking a simple colour, will you be wearing mostly white, black or something like a bold emerald green. Once you’ve done this, you can pick out a staple pair of shorts, a shirt or even a dress. A jumpsuit is a perfect staple for your suitcase, as it can be worn day and night, so make sure you have one of these with you.

Pre-plan outfits

Once you’ve decided what staples you’ll be taking with you, you’ll be able to build your outfits around them. Because you’ll know how many days and nights you’ll be there, you’ll be able to decide what staples you’ll wear at certain times, and this will help to inform other t-shirts, vests, shorts, shirts and dresses to pack into your case alongside those signature
pieces.

Accessories

When it comes to your accessories, whether it be watches or jewellery such as diamond earrings, necklaces and rings, you’ll be able to narrow these down based on outfits, as only certain accessories will go with everything you’ve chosen to take with you.

Because of this, just pick out a few pieces to match up to your clothes and wear them to the airport. This way, you won’t have to worry about them getting tangled or broken in your luggage.

Footwear

Don’t take too much footwear, it’ll only take up too much space in your case, and of course, you won’t wear them all.

Instead, try taking some footwear that can be worn around the pool all day, such as a nice pair of sandals, and then maybe some casual, but fashionable, trainers, in case you go walking. Then, choose one pair of shoes to wear in the evenings, whether it be a pair of heels or similar, which match the outfits you’ve chosen.

As mentioned, if you’re opting for a particular theme, with limited outfits, choosing that statement pair of shoes shouldn’t be too hard.

Day-to-day

Just remember, when you’re on a summer holiday, you won’t need to pack too much as you’ll spend most of the day sunbathing. This means that 90% of your daywear will just be swimwear. So, make sure you have those killer bikinis or one-pieces packed inside your case, guaranteed to see you through the sun-soaked days.

If you follow these five simple rules, not only will you feel fabulous all holiday long thanks to your outfit choices, but packing will be much easier and your suitcase shouldn’t be too heavy either.
