NEW! URBAN DECAY VICE LIPSTICKS

Whoop! The new Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks have landed in the UK. 100 (yes, ONE HUNDRED) shades, in six finishes, covering all shades – bold brights, dark and sexy and versatile neutrals. Accompanying the lipsticks are also 50 24-7 Glide-On lip pencils, so you can find your ideal match to perfect your pout.

So about these six finishes, this is how the 100 shades of Vice Lipsticks are split up:

Metallized– Cream with a high level of pearl

Mega Matte – Super-intense matte

Cream – the original: creamy, bad-ass luxury

Comfort Matte – our creamiest matte

Sheer – a punch of colour with a sheer, shiny finish

Sheer Shimmer – slighty transparent finish with a floating pearl and a smooth texture

I have four of the finishes and my favourite one is Comfort Matte. Rich, creamy, but far from drying, its pigment and staying power is impressive. Backtalk is described as a matte mauve-nude pink. I’m loving this, but wasn’t overly surprised when it needed reapplying after eating.

My least favourite is the Metallized finish. It’s just not an option I’d typically opt for, so it’s purely a personal preference. That said, it feels comfortable on the lips, but after a bite to eat, requires a touch up as you’re left with a fair amount of glitter where the colour has rubbed off. Who knows, seeing the metallized lipsticks in the other colours may sway my mind. as I’m not keen on Big Bang. The finish would be great for a night out – Halloween and the festive season comes to mind.

Pandemonium, a vibrant bright matte purple, isn’t a lipstick to hide behind. I was a somewhat disappointed by the way the colour distributed on the lips though. It’s a little patchy in application so needed going over at least three times to get even coverage – you can see the unevenness in the swatch below. Its ultra-matte finish felt a little tight on the lips after a couple of hours too. That said, I’m all over matte lips right now, so I won’t write off the whole range just cos of one lipstick.

Cream is the original Urban Decay lipstick formula, it’s rich, moisturising and full of colour, as displayed by shade 714 – which also featured in the Gwen Stefani collaboration.
