Sun Bronze lustre drops – these are luurrvely. I was gonna skip them but I swatched them and it was ♥
I spotted Nicola of Pixiwoo fame and whispered “I recognise you off of You Tuuuube” like a true stalker and she was very nice and bubbly. No airs or graces there! Miss Virtue’s MUA friend and another MUA, James had me cracking up. I don’t think I’ve had so much fun in MAC. The staff were on point this morning.
I’ve also managed to bag both Scatterrays and Bronzescape solar bits for just $20 + free shipping (BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!) off the sales forum on Specktra and they should be arriving at my boyf’s tomorrow as the seller’s only in Brooklyn and sent them out yesterday. I can’t wait for him to post me my stuff, his bedroom must be resembling a mini makeup counter again! Poor sod!

The funny thing is, I wasn’t able to track down Virgin Isle through the Gone But Not Forgotten scheme when I was in NY and had given up hope of tracking one down anytime soon so I was ecstatic when Miss Virtue spotted it.
Coincidentally MAC called my boyf 2 days ago but he missed the call (a felony!!!), so I called them this afternoon to be told that they’ve managed to track down Virgin Isle for me after all if I still wanted it.
That’s some serious customer service!! I placed the order a month ago and my order arrived over a week ago and they’re still looking out for me? I’m really impressed by that.
We then shimmied up to Selfridges and ended up at MAC again (an hr and a half in the PRO store obviously wasn’t enough) and the counter there was going all out for the Style Warriors launch.
swatched lots of their e/s a today and found myself having to swipe them approx 4 times to get any pigment to show up! Not impressed with the quality of them considering they’re £14 each and I won’t be buying any in the forseeable future.
The only plus was the friendly MUA who looked about 50 but was very helpful! Bless him.
After stopping at almost every beauty counter in Selfridges, we popped into Superdrug to pick up some more GOSH velvet touch waterproof eye pencils and must have swatched the entire display in the process!
The staying power of these are so good and they go on really smoothly. No skin dragging here matey! If you don’t already know about these – get to know! The GOSH range is 3 for 2 for at the moment, so take advantage. I’m going back for more pencils when I get a chance.

The nail polish is by Revlon and I can’t find a shade name or recognisable code no on the bottle at all which is odd. I got a nice bright creamy fuschia. I wanted to put it on tonight but am too tired.
I’ve become a bit obsessed with the peachy, sunkissed look and bought Stila Sun Bronzer shade 03 (discontinued, but avail on Ebay in bulk at the moment) after scrutinising a million and one bronzers suitable for my skintone. I was able to pick it up from the sorting office before trekking ‘up West’ to MAC.
I’m so, so happy with this! Very subtle shimmer and great for contouring. It’s not too orangey either. A great match for me. I also tested Urban Decay’s Baked Bronzer in Glided and I’ll be buying that to compliment the Stila bronzer.
I’ve bought a couple of The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes too. I’ve been meaning to get one of these for almost 2 years after seeing a work colleague wear one daily on her eyes to work.
Despite TBS offering 20% off online at the moment, I bought them both for way under RRP, brand new off Ebay. They should be here in a couple of days. I bought no 06 and 17 and swatched them both instore today. I should have taken pics of the swatches but forgot. Duh! I’ll swatch ’em when they arrive.
Oh and before I forget I’ve managed to get my hands on one of the MAC Trip palettes without setting foot near Heathrow airport. I got one on Ebay
I bought the Neutral Eye Palette which contains:
- Bisque: A soft muted beige
- Mineralism: A frosted light taupe
- Say, Yeah: A pinkish coral with golden pearl
- Sable: A muted bronze with golden pearl
- Bateau: A dirty midtown brown
I don’t own any of these e/s shades so I’m tres happy. I’m def taking this with me on my next trip away instead of taking all four 15 pan e/s pallettes with me *rolls eyes*.
You’ve gotta love Ebay for the beauty bargains!
I’m exhausted and am off to bed this very minute as I have to be up at 3am (don’t ask)!! Not amused as I really want a lie-in tomorrow morning! Boooo!!
Who knew a day dedicated to just beauty shopping could be so tiring!
And finally as if I don’t have enough make up, I bought Glamour this morning and rejoiced at the free sample size of Benefit Bad Lash mascara enclosed. Time to see if the hype surrounding this for the past 6+ years is justified.

Good grief no wonder you were exhausted!!! – I heart all fo your stuff especially the Trip palette and GOSH pretty petrol liner – I don't have that one:)Really pleased you liked the lustre drops all the swatches look gorgeous but I don't think I would use it enough to justify it. Good Luck with the solar bits I have some from a precious collection and can't get away with them way too much fallout 🙁

Louise – A MUA mixed the solar bits with eyeliner mixing medium to make them stick. I may have to invest if I can't get them to work on their own. I love them though. The colour's so intense.
Makeup Snob – Yeah I'm really pleased with what I picked. I have enough yellow e/s and also the L'oreal Hip Duo so didn't see the point in getting the e/s. I have Tempting already too. The models were just as the fab as the ones I saw in NY. It was a nice touch. All eyes were on MAC in the Beauty Hall.
Looks like you have been quite the busy bee! I am sorry to hear that you aren't feeling the Illamasqua love! Solstice is stunning though, you must admit 😉
Great haul! I've been lemming for the Mac Trip palettes–they're all sooo purdy and have shades I don't have. I'll definitely have to try Ebay at some point…Enjoy everything!!

Oh mixing medium – hmm I haven't got any of that its just a pro store product isn't it? May have to think about getting some of that- if I can get to a pro store. The colour is really nice and really pigmented but the fallout is so bad 🙁

I have always seen Gosh in superdrugs and have been wondering whether I should try it or not. Now that you have said its worth it I might just do that.

SoFrolushes – Yeah def try the range. The lip jams are nice too. Try Mocha lipstick (1280 with lip jam (103) over the top.
