THE BEST PLACES TO WORK REMOTELY IN CENTRAL LONDON

Calling all remote workers, digital nomads, and freelancers in Central London: if you’re struggling to find somewhere decent to work, struggle no more. Whether you need a nice, quiet place to dial into a video conference or a hip café with a bit of background noise to write your next article, here are a few recommendations to check out.

5^th View

Located on the 5^th floor of the massive Waterstones down the road from Piccadilly Circus, 5^th View is a great place to work over a nice slice of cake and a cup of decent coffee. The view is pretty incredible, and it’s relatively quiet for its busy, central location. That being said, 5^th View does a popular happy hour (two for one cocktails Wednesday to Saturday from 5-8pm) and the place gets a bit livelier during those times. But morning hours and early afternoon are perfect for remote workers.

No matter what your religious beliefs are, everyone can find peace and productivity at Host. Situated in the gorgeous St Mary Aldermary Church, this unique café is fitted out with couches, pews, and tables, perfect for settling for a few hour’s work. Despite the lofty ceilings the place remains warm and cosy, and you can even bring your own food (even though there are plenty of tasty options to go for if you get nibbly). The coffee is decent, the prices are reasonable, and the ambiance is just perfect for getting work done.

Timberyard -Seven Dials

Timberyard (aka TY) is fantastic place for nomadic workers. This hip café, which also has a location in Soho on Noel Street, is usually pretty busy with fellow laptop workers so it’s a good idea to arrive before noon to settle in. The vibe is warm, cosy, and busy – their serious coffee has a considerable following, and they’ve got plenty of mouth-watering cakes and bites to choose from. Another perk about TY is their private boardroom – ideal if you need a professional space to hold a meeting. However, you have to reserve the room in advance and the minimum time you can book is 2 hours (which costs £50).
