Thai brand Janjira, is completely new to me and is home to the Therapy Massage Candle which performs as both a candle and an oil? “Huh?!” I hear you say. Let me explain.
This works not only as a candle, emitting a gorgeous aroma of tangerine, rhubarb and grapefruit but doubles up as a massage oil too. As the wick burns, the “wax” (it’s not wax, it’s an oil) melts and can then be poured onto your hand and body, leaving the skin feeling nourished and hydrated. The oil/wax is made from soybean and coconut oil, which aids to soften the skin.
Admittedly I wasn’t enthralled at the idea of pouring hot oil into my hand and did so hesitantly, fearing the worst – third degree burns, knowing my luck! Alas, I had nothing to fear. Once I’d blown the candle out, I poured the oil into my hand – it wasn’t scalding hot, more intensely warm I’d say. The warm scent immediately transported me back that familiar aroma you get in a spa/massage therapy room.
You can use the oil as a massage oil, on your cuticles, or as a body moisturiser – even your face I suppose, anything goes!
How much is it? £34
