I was hell bent on going to the Pro Store today after going there after work yesterday only to see they weren’t allowing any more customers in and were getting ready to close. Why is there no late night Thursday shopping on Carnaby Street?!!! I think I need to address this issue with my local MP or something! How can MAC NOT be open til 8pm on a Thurs night?!!!
Being denied MAC was bad enough but then being caught in a torrential downpour did nothing to improve my already black mood. I could have sworn the skies opened because I was so pissed about MAC being closed!! The rain was dis-gusting yesterday evening as any occupant of London Town will happily tell you. The only thing that was amusing were how many people were caught out in it. The weather had been gorgeous earlier in the day so summer apparel was in full force! The majority of people looked as if they’d jumped fully clothed into a swimming pool! Poor sods.
In the end my umbrella did nothing to stop me looking like I was auditioning for a Soul Glo advert and my feet were swimming in my shoes so that’ll teach me to laugh at the misfortune of others. Oh and my back was soaking wet and trousers were soaked to my knees too! Fantastic (!)
Anyway, after swatching to our hearts content at the (packed) MAC counter in Selfridges last night, I made sure that I got to the Pro store today. Originally I had planned to buy just 3 eyeshadows, maybe one pearl glide liner and another 15 pan palette as I’ve run out of space. I’m yet to go into a MAC store and come out with just the items on my list. I went with Miss Virtue and Amanda, the SA who helped us with our Colour Craft purchases last month was working so she served us again. I LOVE her, she almost makes you forget you’re spending money!!
Baby Bloom failed to stir an ounce of excitement in me the minute its scheduled release was announced. I refuse to fork money out on what are essentially lip salves with a bit of glitter in them. I liked Just A Smidge when I swatched it last night but I can achieve the same look with clear gloss and Goldyrocks dazzleglass, it’s not rocket science.
I’m pleased MAC have released the tinted moisturisers, which include a couple of shades for darker skintones. However, Deep Dark seems to be the best match for my skintone and I’m only a NC50, so darker chicks may find themselves skipping this and looking elsewhere for a tinted moisturiser to match them.

Style Snob (Erm, this wasn’t on my list at all but Amanda went and got it for me anyway and said I “needed” this. Bad MUA, baaaaaad!!! LOL I actually did like it when I went to swatch it so she’s forgiven).
Up until yesterday I was a bit ‘blah’ about the whole Starflash formula. I bought Smoke n Diamonds the first time round but I don’t reach for it all the time and I’ve never really noticed this smooth, creamier texture that it has over other shadows. I appreciate why people go bonkers for them now. I hope some new Starflash shades are introduced and made permanent, that’d be cool.
I should have bought Unbasic White too but I wasn’t concentrating. I’m gonna buy it on Sunday. I hope it doesn’t sell out tomorrow, it shouldn’t do, but you can never tell with LE collections.
Pearl glide eye liners in Black Russian & Rave. Rave is darker and is very shimmery, whereas my GOSH Violet is lighter in colour and has a subtle sheen. Black Russian is creamy black with silver specks in it. I bought it to compare against Feline (which should be arriving any day now) which gets such good reviews.
I bought two of the LE dazzleglasses in Via Veneto and Euro Beat from Euristocrats 2. The lipsticks we already had access to, within the perm line and they’ll remain perm so no need to break your neck snapping these up as they’re not going anywhere.
I also bought another 15 pan empty eyeshadow palette and e/s pans in Swiss Chocolate and Tilt. I can’t wait to depot this evening. I love depotting and arranging my palettes. I’ll be in my element with my label making machine – for at least the first 10 mins anyway and then I’ll get bored. Labelling is hard work!!
For the UK chicks wondering about the Graphic Gardens collection I’m sure you’ve already spotted it on the MAC site. It’s also being sold in Harvey Nichols too if you happen to swing by Knightsbridge this weekend.

ETA: I discovered this morning that Style Snob is very similar to Satin Taupe and is just a little lighter. I wouldn’t have bought it had I known beforehand as the difference is so minute. Just a heads up so you don’t end up spending more ££ than you need to.

You made me giggle thinking of you with your label making machine! I might try something like that, I just peel off the name stickers after I have depotted but it looks a bit shabby!
I will defo be getting some of the pearl glide eye liners though, the colours you got are lovely!

@ Shangri-La – I put the actual stickers on the bottom of the pans so if I need to put themin different palettes I know what's what. I make up the labels for the INSIDE of the palette so when I open it up I can see what's what 🙂 I have three palettes to finish and I started in February or so!!

Lol i love ur posts! I got caught in the downpour too after a beautiful sunny (if abit muggy) day. I refused to walk into harvey nicks yesterday to look at graphic gardens, i knew i would be tempted but the colection does nothing for me! Now starflash on the other hand…i hauled. And i may go back for the ones i missed out on next week.

That rated r is the most beautiful shade of green I believe I've ever seen.
I like the look of Style Snob, wasn't sure whether to get it though as I read it's a lighter version of Satin Taupe which I already have. Looks as though it has pinky undertones though so I'm not so sure… I really want Smoke and Diamonds, Rave and Black Russian. Are the pearlglides glittery though or more shimmery? Wouldn't be so keen if there was fall out xx

Wow great buys. I def want to get Glamour Check and Style Snob, the swatches look lovely. Love how Strike a Pose looks in the box but I know I wouldn't get enough use out of it to justify the price. Really want to pick up the GOSH liner too pictured.
