Nanoblur – the 40 Second Skin Miracle?

So last week I was browsing through Stylist magazine as I often do during my daily commute every Thursday morning, when I came across a page advertising a skincare product which claims to make you look 10 years younger in 40 seconds. “Yeah, whatever”, I thought! Do I look stupid?! With material for my blog never being too far from my mind, I thought it would make for a good blog post, so I stuffed the mag in my bag and took it home.

Fast forward to Tuesday night, where a secret skincare launch, hosted in trendy Soho haunt, The Box (weird and wonderful venue by the way – check it out if you ever get the chance to go), was revealed as being for no other than the very product which had caught my eye last week – Nanoblur!

So what is Nanoblur?
Nanoblur is described as an optical skin cream, which has been compared to premium anti-ageing serums, which can take up to two months to show an effect. Nanoblur claims to significantly improve the appearance of lines and skin imperfections immediately, for a fraction of the price.

It contains the most advanced form of optical prism technology which “blurs” any lines or flaws on the skin, creatingthe appearance of poreless skin, while reducing wrinkles and textural damage. The water based formula can easily added to any skincare routine and is suitable for all skin types.

I’ve used this twice so far. it’s currently on my face for the second day in a row as I type and at the moment I’m sat at my desk, at work (obviously blogging, not working, but anyway…).

Yesterday morning I used it with my Bare Escentuals minerals foundation, so I applied my usual moisturiser as normal and then applied Nanoblur over the top. It absorbed like a dream and I didn’t need to apply a lot of product at all. I was worried it would tranform my moisturiser into a “bitsy mess”, but nope, it was absolutely fine. I then put my foundation on as normal – no dryness or alteration in the finish of it either.

So I waited ..and I swear on my blush collection, that this stuff made a difference to my skin! Did it knock ten years off my face? Erm..let’s not be hasty, I dunno about that, but I could clearly see how much smoother and fresher my skin looked within seconds. My colleague mentioned how “fresh faced” I looked this morning and as yet I haven’t had to touch up any shine with my MAC Blot Powder, which is a miracle in itself. By late afternoon, I wasn’t looking as fresh, but still considerably better than I usually do without any touch ups.

Nanoblur is a very light, lotion, (which gives the impression of being heavier when you squirt it out of its tube) which when rubbed ito the skin, disappears in seconds – no vigorous rubbing required in order to make it absorb. It does that itself, very easily. My skin not only looks smoother but feels smoother to the touch too. Once applied, you can’t tell it’s on and it suits all skin tones as it’s colourless. and it doesn’t add any weight to your normal moisturiser.

I doubt very much that if I posted close up photos that you’d see the sort of before and after differences which are heavily promoted by Nanoblur – so I haven’t bothered to take any. The change can be seen in person easily enough though. Despite making my skin look and feel smoother, I wouldn’t go as far as calling it a miracle in a tube. My other skin complaints haven’t been rectified i.e I still have pigmentation issues and uneven skin tone, so I won’t be chucking my concealer away anytime soon, but after concealer and foundation, my skin looked much better than it usually does and for that I’m grateful. Arguably you may find similar, if not better results by using your favourite make up primer – ironically I own approximately three but never use them!

I think this product is ideal if you have an interview, a night out or a date – or any event where you want to look your best and give yoru skin a needed boost. It doesn’t break the bank either, having a suitable price point – hell, it’s cheaper than botox! I really like it after my first experience with it this morning, but this will be one of those products which you either love or hate! Right now, I love it!

I was so pleased with the results that I didn’t have the patience to see how it performed with liquid foundation before I posted about it. To be honest, I’m a little sceptical of how I’m supposed to apply this over liquid foundation, without moving it around my face. I’ll be testing it again tomorrow – on liquid foundation, so check back for a second post detailing how it performs on that.
