At times, the demands of daily life can stress us out, making us feel fatigued. Both our minds and bodies can do with a bit of pampering and indulgence and the new Aromachologie Rebalancing collection from L’Occitane seeks to energise and aid recovery with purifying essential oils and natural ingredients.

As promising as the range sounds, I tested it with mediocre results and unfortunately, wasn’t particularly blown away by any of the three products I tried.
Described as exfoliating, I found the shower gel to be functional but nothing out of the ordinary. Its formula with olive and lemon particles delicately eliminates impurities and leaves skin smooth. It did the job, cleansed my skin effectively, but performs no better than any other shower gel I’ve used, which costs far less.
I was eager to try the black soap. An olive oil based soap paste, It’s supposed to clean the skin and refine its texture, leaving it soft and silky. I found this incredibly messy to use and was disappointed to see that it just sat on my skin and didn’t rinse off easily at all.b I didn’t see or feel any difference after use.
I expected this to have a similar effect to traditional African black soap which I’ve used in the past and has a range of benefits for the hair, skin and body, but this is nothing like it. I ended up spending twice as long in the shower trying to get it off my skin. It’s hard to remove and just spread like a greasy mess as I rubbed it in No lather, moisturising oil residue left afterwards, nothing.
Finally the Massage Cream. Again, I was unimpressed with this. It’s supposed to promote microcirculation, reoxygenerate the epidermis and reveal the skin’s radiance. It wasn’t moisturising enough, and I found the gel texture too thin and far too expensive for what it is. The tub also cracked when I accidentally dropped spilling the product all over the carpet!! The last thing I expected was the packaging to disintegrate so easily. Despite being enriched with horse chestnut extract, glycerin and hydrating sugars derived from corn it just didn’t do anything for me. Disappointing.
Needless to say, I can’t recommend this, but hey you win some, you lose some. I’m not going to like everything I try.
