Thursday afternoon in London was lovely. The sun was shining brightly (for a change) and it was quite warm, so it felt a bit odd being surrounded by wooly knits and winter boots at the Next Autumn 2015 Press Day.
Next have completely revamped themselves as a brand in recent years. I specifically remember thinking it was quite a dowdy brand, which was uninspiring, boring and strictly ‘for those needing a safe work wardrobe’. Over the past couple of years I’ve bought quite a few items from Next, namely shoes, underwear and bits for the home. Every time I browse the site I find a number of items that I like, not to mention their baby clothes, which I’ve bought in abundance over the past year for Cassius and continue to do so.
Autumn 2015 for Next sees the trend for pointy flats continue, and they’ll be metallic, lace-up, animal print or embellished. Chunky block heels also make an appearance. Autumnal tones of green, camel and jewel blues will be teamed with pastels, splashes of gold, pewter and silver.
Black and grey continue to infuence homeware, with metallic influences injected for a look of luxe. Statement lamps, with spectacular vases and regal candlesticks add an air of elegance for the wow factor.
These are the main pieces which caught my eye from Womenswear and Homeware.
