Calling All Bloggers - Fancy Free Gym Membership?

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Since summer is taking its sweet time to make an appearance, there's still time to embark on a last ditch attempt to look great once it arrives. Maybe you want to improve your overall health. Whatever your reason for making a change, Moneysupermarket.com are offering a helping hand and dishing out free gym memberships.

Basically, they're offering to pay for a month’s gym membership for bloggers who take part in their Gym For the Win campaign and answer a few questions about how they found the experience at the end – they want to see if people would be prepared to carry on going after a month of being given it for free. Any gym of your choice is game, so if you've been eyeing up that flash gym which costs an arm and a leg, now's the ideal time to try it out!

If you want to get involved, you better be quick, there are only 200 places up for grabs. Find all the info you need here.

See by Chloé – The Perfume

Monday, May 20, 2013

Have you had a sniff of the new See by Chloé perfume yet?

This playful scent balances sandalwood and vanilla, bergamot, apple blossom and jasmine and will certainly be worn more once the weather warms up again - perfect for sunny spring/summer days.

See By Chloé has created a couple of fun videos to accompany the launch of this new fragrance and you can watch all of the clips over here on the official website (they feature a couple of girlfriends playing a game of "spin the bottle/truth or dare").

On top of that, a nifty (if you have too much time on your hands) movie maker app has also been launched on the See By Chloé fragrance website, so you can easily create your own "I dare..." video using your own pictures.

Estee Lauder Freebies at Boots.

Monday, May 20, 2013

If you happen to be near an Estee Lauder counter in Boots this week, be sure to stop by and check out a  pretty cool GWP (gift with purchase), they currently have on offer.

With the purchase of two or more Estee Lauder products (one to be skincare or foundation), you can choose one of two gift sets. One is named Subtle (pictured), which gives you all you need for a softer make up look and the other is Statement, which is great for a stronger look.

A Couple of Recommendations

Monday, May 13, 2013

Although I use/test a large number of products, when I come across items which make the grade, I can't shout about them loud enough.

I love a good shower product - smell and texture are important to me, along with how well the product moisturises my skin. Nobody wants to be left with dry tight feeling skin due to the product they've used in the shower.  I like Soap and Glory products  and was looking forward to trying their new Whipped Clean Shower Butter. Their Flake Away scrub is always in my bathroom and so I had high hopes for this - and wasn't disappointed.

Whipped Clean is a thick creamy shower/butter in one and smells heavenly. Made up of 25% moisture oils and butters including sweet almond oil, macadamia nut oil, sweet almond oil and cocoa and shea butters it lathers up a treat and leaves skin smelling good (this smells of sweet vanilla, pistachio and almond - yum!) and leaving skin feeling pampered. I love how the smell takes over the bathroom, and it's also nice and bubbly.  Apparently this also smells similar to their Smoothie Star products, I haven't tried those so can't pass comment on how accurate that is.

Soap & Glory go as far to suggest skipping using body moisturiser as it's so hydrating. I wouldn't go that far, but then I don't skip a day without using it. Not the cheapest product in at £8, but certainly not overly excessive given just how good a product it is. Find it here on the Boots site.

Hell Week - Barry's Bootcamp

Saturday, April 27, 2013

My quest for improved fitness and weight loss continues with a week of intense classes at Barry Bootcamp commencing next week - watch out for my whining tweets!

If you're a fan The Kardashians, you may recall an episode, in spin off series Kim and Kourtney Take New York, where the girls worked up a sweat at the popular Barry's Bootcamp. Found in locations such as California, Texas and Norway, the infamous workouts Barry's Bootcamp is known for have now reached British shores.

Keeping Fit With the Help of Zalando

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

I'm still in the grips of this fitness kick and have been on the look out for some new fitness gear. I don't know about you, but when I'm kitted out in new clobber, I feel more motivated to work my toosh off, when working out. All too often I visit the usual suspects when it comes to buying sportswear, the popular sports shops, or failing that I check out Ebay hoping to bag a bargain.

Zalando has a huge range of sportswear and is home to dozens of brands such as Nike, Adidas, Reebok, ASICS, The North Face and Puma to name a few. It also stocks lesser known brands which cater for all pockets. In addition to that, sporting equipment for activities such as cycling, yoga, hiking, football are available on the website too.

A couple of weeks ago, I had my heart set on a Nike hoody which I had spotted on the official Nike site. It turned out to be cheaper in the Zalando sale, which I was estatic about as my umming and aahing resulted in it selling out before I had a chance to buy it.. It has a cool quilted-like diamond texture to it and has discreet reflectors to keep me visible in the dark on the hood strings, back, pocket edges and on the zips. It also has extended material on the sleeves which my hands go through which will be handy on chilly nights.
