If there’s one thing I struggle to get through the day without, it’s a lip balm. the wave of panic I feel come over me, when I think I’ve lost my phone, is what I also feel on the rare occasion that I’m caught out without a lip balm, especially now the weather is windy and chilly.
I recently tried a new product, Beauty Kitchen Wonder Balms, and here’s what I think.
All natural and perfect for lips and any other dry bits that require attention, these pocket-friendly balms from the Scottish based company, come in cute, dinky tins that will slip in the pockets of the tightest of jeans! Available in six different scents and boasting 100% natural ingredients, dry lips, cuticles, elbows or whatever else takes your fancy can be a thing of the past, whilst you’re out and about on the go.
Key Ingredients:
Beeswax – Great for providing long-term moisturisation, skin softening beeswax is ideal for tackling dry skin and chapped lips.
Abyssinian Oil – This intense version of argan oil is light, non-greasy and super hydrating. Rich in omega 3, Abyssinian oil leaves you with soft, smooth lips & skin. (not suitable for Vegans, contains Beeswax)
I carried Chill Me (lavendar, eucalyptus and clary sage) and Spoil Me (cedarwood, orange sweet and aniseed) around with me when I was suffering from an allergic reaction back in July (due to a Vitamin A disaster!) and they really did the trick in soothing my inflamed skin. One of the things I loved was no matter how often I applied them, my skin didn’t get drier which is the problem I had faced a week before they arrived.
The skin above my top lip was angry – very angry at being slathered in the likes of Burts Bees and Carmex which left with me with a not-so-sexy angry red mass which at the time I saw no end in disappearing! I’d resorted to using Cassius’ eczema emollient which calmed down the redness and kept the skin hydrated. The Beeswax and Cocoa Butter that the Wonder Balms contain also leave my skin feeling moisturised and allowed it to heal without further irritation. Both scents also smelt surprisingly pleasant, despite their eclectic mix of ingredients.
Oh and before I round up, back to that dinky packaging I mentioned at the start of the post. It’s fully recycable and can reused to store anything from mints to any other random bits you cna fit inside!
