Beware of the influence your fellow bloggers have over you!

In the early hours of last Sunday morning I was still awake, couldn’t take my boyf’s wailing about “the game” for a second longer and so decided to catch up on some blog reading. I caught up with Becky’s blog Style and the City and came across some fab extra long leggings she’d purchased from Family Affairs, an independent mother and daughter run business based in New York and Switzerland.

Better still was the pocket friendly price tag as they’d been reduced form $63 to $19. Postage cost a further $5 so the total price of $24 (£15) was quite appealing at 1:15am!

September leggings

I’ve loved the look of extra long leggings for months but have never come across a pair long enough on the high street that cover high heels as shown in the website picture or that can be worn under the heel of your foot.

They arrived yesterday but I was accidentally sent them in navy not black as I’d ordered. That’s being sorted out for me, so thumbs up to Family Affairs customer service as they’ve told me to keep the navy pair and my black pair’s on the way.

Moral of the story? Don’t start looking at people’s purchases at 1am when bored and feeling spontaneous. It will cost you – literally.

Have you made a random purchase (not necessarily cosmetic related) after reading somebody’s blog?

Ha ha, well I bought them after seeing them on another blog! I'm impressed by anyone who says they never do this. I ordered revlon red nail polish last week after seeing it on lollipop26's blog, despite having about 5 red nail polishes already!

I think thats the best time to go shopping I always feel more daring at that time of the night and buy things I wouldn't normally!! Think they'll look great x

I haven't bought them (yet) but I'm obsessed with these tights that are hand painted by ladies in Israel & have tattoo icons on them. Need! Will cave soon but they aren't cheap.

@Shabna – My self control is patheric. See, now when I was in Lush I felt perfectly restrained. It doesn't really excite me.

@Becky – I've bought a LOT of make up this year based on other people's purchases. This will NOT be happening as much in 2010! LOL

    @Av – I don't plan on making a habit of it. Thanks hon x

@Helen – Hand painted tights? They sound cool!

Damn they're nice! Make a change from regular legging, so I can see why you'd be tempted.

I've bought rather a lot of nail polishes lately after seeing them swatched on blogs, just gone off and hunted them down as soon as I've seen them. Whoops 😉

Oh of course! But strangely enough only with clothes/accessories…I think it's because I own all the makeup I see on blogs lately LOL

Guilty! Guilty! Guity! Revlon colorstay foundation in caramel, fudge hair varnish, naked coco de mer body butter and shower wash, clinique moisture surge, sound familiar? Luckily yours is the only beauty blog I read!

Those look really cute, I love the fact that they're long enough to cover the heels. I wonder if they'd be long enough for towering me?

..and this is me blatantly not following your advice. LOL

Yes, repeatedly. I ventured into River Island after seeing a top on Kingdom of Style, and I hardly even shop there! Blogging is definitely bad for my bank balance..
